A LETTER TO MY UNBORN CHILD

Dear Child,

The world is beautiful and breathtaking
Filled with an enormous view of God's creation
It offers you everything needed to be happy
You have an amazing mother
In her bosom, you will find uncompromised love

Growing up is demanding
We all have to create our own path
It is good to have dreams, it will help you grow
If someday you get lost in the dark, yet have but a pen
Cherish it with your life, the world will find you

When bullies picked at you, fight back
This may not be a promising adventure
But it will wade them off eventually
Give you a sense of self-confidence
Also, guide your choices in relationship

Maybe help you get over a heartbreak
Truth is life is confusing sometimes
Yet everything happens for a reason
Always ensure you get counsel from your mother
She will lead you when in need of direction

As a child, I was deprived of amenity
I grew up the hard way
Looking back; it gave me something I would never lack
Hope, courage, resilience, and the heart to love
In life, the choices we make are endless
Follow your heart; listen to your conscience

Always be humble, treat your elders with respect
In the future, you will be wiser and a better man
A good character can help you become great
The door to success though may not be abreast
When you look consciously, it is left ajar

When it needs, look up to the Lord with a keen heart
It is alright to be prone to mistakes
But must also take responsibility for your actions
I never promised life is going to be perfect
That is why we are conscious of the things we do

You might not understand these words
Not by meditating on it day and night
But put them close to your heart
Let them be your companion every time
Especially when you have troubled night

We will always cherish the day God made you
And will never be ceased from loving you
These words are from within a fathers heart
I hope they find you in good time
I love you from the depth of my heart

Dad
