Open Hand

In the morning-I will stretch out
hands to receive blessing from
you,
in the mid-day-
I will come to you with open
hand for ship load of goodness,
at the night-
I will bow down before you to
say "THANKS" for your unfailing
love and kindness.

With appreciative mind-
I will come to your temple-
with sacrifice;
with heart full of joy-
I will bless you among
people of same mind,
with happiness-I will roll
out drums and tambourine
to sing your praise.

With cymbals and harp,
I will worship in your
courtyard, and with horn
I will herald your glory and
greatness among gods.

My faith in you will never
diminish,
and the trust-I have in you
will never wane;
when-I wake up-each day
see your handiwork,
the planetary heaven, oceans
rivers, mountains, cliffs, animals,
domestic and wild;
I'm assured-you live-
forever.

WHO IS JESUS?

Jesus is the prince of peace
He is the alpha and Omega
The lord of lords, king of kings
He is the son of the most high God

Jesus is the lover of my soul
He is the one who died on the cross
So I might be made whole
He takes care of all my need

Jesus restores broken home
He heals the sick and raise the dead
He protects man from all manner of evil
He gives rest to the heart that is heavy ladened

When Jesus comes into a man's life
His world never remain the same again
He takes away the darkness lingering in his heart
And plant a light that is eternally bright

Jesus feeds the hungry, made the blind to see
If you are looking for a friend, faithful and holy
Whom would never disappoint you
Search no more, Jesus is the one you seek

A NEW WORLD

A new world
This is what I seek
There is too much tyranny
The church is deprived of love

Underneath the sunrise
There is a little child starving
There is a girl child unprotected
From the cruelty of humanity

Everywhere I looked, there is strife and conflicts
But how long are we going to live like this
Indulge in hateful gathering of despised
Dislodged, misguided and reckless youth

It is not about racist and inequality
It is not about taking up arms to war
We have to stop wearing forged faces
Fight the pestilence threatening the unborn

You and I knows this is true
Despite we may refuse to acknowledge this
Do not you think we deserve a better world?
A world children can live in peace and hamony

WAIT IN VAIN

It has been three days waiting for your call
I looked out the window for a sign
Maybe the wind will whisper to me
If you are missing me terribly too

Please tell me if waiting for you is right
I will do anything to have you in my arms
Should you not find me at home
I am waiting under the stars for you

Maybe if it rained yesterday, it wouldn't today
The heart misses you and your warm smile
Heart leaps in ecstasy waiting for your love
Waiting to have a kiss that is long overdue

I am incomplete without you
Please do not make me wait in vain
Every passing day, my feelings is torn apart
I hate feeling like this because you are my world

THE COLOUR OF MY HEART

the colour of my heart blooms
when i see you,
thinking someday we could get through,
when it's all good

the colour of my heart fades
when you walk away,
trying to build a life with what's left
this bleeding never ends
please, all i want is for you to stay.

yet, one day you will disappeared,
nothing heard,no tears streams
i will be strong yet still teared within,
in the galaxy of my own soul

it wasn't i, it wasn't i , it was you
it was the life that seperated us
without sign,without telling
Like the winds changed in our hearts

though am still chasing, still hoping,
wondering how am i even loving,
this feeling i couldn't resist every morning and evening,

i want to stop, it was deceiving,
please, let myself stop believing.

maybe you realized how pathetic
i am to you,
how unforgiven and not deserving,
but i already knew that
but thought your love was home
for who i was

yes, it was so damn true
now the sadness inside me want to get through, i'm so tired thinking what am i supposed to do.

between us, it's over,
but you said " we can't predict our future,"
once again, i believed,
extremely funny, I AM THE ONLY ONE who believes,

Please, just tell me you love me even if it's not true,
there i go again am finding it hard to let go

This is the last time i'll be fooled by you.

SEPTEMBER MORNING

Another early morning
When the birds are singing,
The wind calmed down
And the rain disappeared!

The majestic sun is rising
Bringing life to a new day
While I can feel in the air
Another season approaching!

The trees are motionless
And the surroundings look
Like changing by the hours
But it is just mid-September!

Many things come to my mind:
Joyful moments of the past
When you and I were
Tightly holding hands
While walking through
The well known Central Park!

Like innocent children,
We sat down on the ground
And happily played with
The colorful dried leaves
Of a very welcomed Fall,
A September morning I recall!

Broken but still living,

Broken but
still alive...
I'm alive, and still loving myself,
I love myself, don't judge
 me when you see me
 broken with a missing
 piece inside me,
Don't love me if you
don't like what you see.
I love me, so don't
 question my loyalty,
It don't matter if you
 see a key in me.
If you can't turn it,
then you can't turn me on,
You can try, but you
need to put your
love In all of this.
Please me, don't tease me,
 don't tell me your ready
 when you aren't
ready for this mess.
The mess i made,
are my mistakesAnd
 the mistakes
 I made You can
take it or leave it.
Cause I been left for dead,
I've been dead inside.
But I still know how to fight inside.

GIFT OF FRESH LEAVES

(A Plea Song for Leah Sharibu)

If Leah, is a gift of fresh leaves,
Please, give us this gift,
Before the soulless scorching sun,
Harvested by the grotesque hands
Of bosomless savage beasts,
Turns our dear gift of fresh leaves
Into a gift of dried leaves:

President Buhari, we beseech you;
Please gift us with Leah, and the others girl.
--------------------------------

Leah, is the young school girl, who (the so called) bokoharam is still holding in captivity, after releasing the other girls they 'kidnapped' alongside her in Dapchi, Yobe state Nigeria, just because she refused to renounce her christian faith -- and be converted to a muslim. Since February, 2018 -- more than 200 days now, Leah, is still in captivity...

Searching for you ...

Why is my mind constantly
Searching for you
Every nook and corner in my heart
You left an indelible mark
Which I tried many times
To wipe out in vain
You have become part of my
Life now leaving no room
For anyone,  my love
Your charming looks captured my heart at the very first meeting
Under the twilight glow
An evening well spent
Together in love
You went away to another land looking for a job !
I wait for you day and night
In the hope you will be mine
Very soon !
These thoughts are killing me every day losing my sleep every night !
I am ready to embrace you
Leaving the past
Waiting with beautiful flowers
From the garden of my heart !

STRANGE FATE

When I see your eyes, pale and sincere
Strange fate creeped into my life
My heart ran through a red light
With feelings out of control

My world was never the same
You have a look that is rare
Beautiful in every way possible
My mind keep beating around

You seem like someone out of this world
Chances are I would not be good enough for you
That you will always be far away from me
But I am ready to go the distance for you

No matter how resilient the weather
It wouldn't pull me away from you
I am not afraid to fall in love with you
Even if our path has different destination

I could see the colour of the night in your eyes
With you, I know love doesn't change like the weather
Should you love me back, I will be the lucky one
For you are all I need

IF

If I am the one
That got your heart broken
Fault from the beginning is yours
Every day spent
I tried to turn back the clock
But time is out of reach
I can't hold a grip
What a relief it would be

If the past is completely forgotten
And the future very near
I will kiss the world
Away from September
I don't want to give you up
You are a part of my dream
Wish I could hold your hands
Lead you through my emotion

For you to understand
My heart has always been open
I could not take for granted
How perfect you made my life
Without you there is nothing within
Your love is what makes my heart happy
I promise never again to hurt you
I love you

Netflix Buys Genevieve Nnaji’s Movie Lion Heart

American over-the-top media services provider, Netflix reportedly bought Genevieve Nnaji’s movie Lion Heart, on the eve of its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Genevieve Nnaji’s movie Lion Heart which will premiere at TIFF on Saturday, has stars like Nkem Owoh, Pete Edochie, and Onyeka Onwenu. The announcement made on Friday by Netflix, makes the comic movie the first Netflix original film from Nigeria.
Variety reported that the story follows a daughter who’s forced to work with her feckless uncle in order to save her father’s ailing bus company. Nnaji plays Adaeze, a level-headed executive in her father’s bus company, Lionheart Transport. When her father (played by Edochie) falls ill, both she and her rival (Kalu Egbui Ikeagwu) are passed over in favor of the uncle, played by Owoh.

Complications arise when they discover that the family business is in dire financial straits — leading to absurd results as they try to save the company. The film also touches on everyday sexism that saturates the workplace, as well as the delicate balance between honoring one’s family while finding the courage to strike out on one’s own.
The movie which is produced by T.E.N. — The Entertainment Network, was written by Genevieve Nnaji, Chinny Onwugbenu, Ishaya Bako, Emil Garuba, and C.J. Obasi. The movie is also the veteran actress’ directorial debut.

Genevieve Nnaji, an actress who has an undeniable star power, made her debut as a producer in 2015 with the movie “Road to Yesterday.” The movie raked in 30 million naira at the box office. It is safe to say that the movie was that successful because of the name ‘Genevieve Nnaji.’ Also, the movie was her come-back after about four years and her fans couldn’t wait to get reacquainted with her acting skills.
It was also gathered that Nnaji did an amazing job in assembling known performers, who are popular for pulling their audience into their projects with their delivery skills.

You and Me

How strange it is
When I am surrounded by dark
The darkened path of my life
Scare me of pitfalls ahead
Bewildered I open and close my eyes
With wide eyes I look for light
To show and lead me ahead.

Perplexed and dazzled ,
I seek you my love
I think there is no one to hold my hand

Suddenly, you appeared as Moon,
Spreading your moonlight on path
Dazzled by your mystifying appearace
Where to I see, I see you there smiling.

The dark is shed and your moon light ahead,
With all fears of insecurity blown away
I see my path and destination clear
When you are with me as  Moon, my dear.

IF YOU EVER KNEW

If there were only
One moment left
In my fragile life,
I would run to you
And hold you tightly
While in your arms
And dance with you forever!

Each embrace
Would remain with me
So the memory of that
Special moment
Would suspend my lifetime
In an air of love just
Raised by you alone!

If the pain in my heart
You truly knew,
The ache turning me
Outside out like an x ray
And penetrating the walls
All around me when I am still
Madly in love with you,
If you ever knew
My dear dreamed love!

WHERE EVER I GO

In the morning when I am awake
When I look up the sky
When I go to sleep
I see you watching over me

The talent and gift I have
The heart to love every one
The success I have achieved
Without you Lord, I wouldn't have

In my mother's womb
To the day I was conceived
The moment I learnt to crawl
It has all being you

The day I took a big step to walk
Knew I had to follow my dreams
When it seems that all is but lost
You taught me never to give up

The breath I take each an every day
The food I need to sustain today
The shelter laid above my head
Are all made possible because of you

I could not count the things you did for me
I could not measure your grace upon me
But in every way be grateful
For whom I have come to be

HE RESTORES MY SOUL

From the hands of death He restored my soul
Fought every battle the enemy's wedged at me
The wicket man set ambush all about me
Yet I walk in and out in peace and full glory

Who are my to be counted worthy?
To stand and behold Your presence Lord
For You are the king of kings, creator of heaven and earth
Blessed is the who seeks comfort in your refuge

Each day is a testimony of your grace upon me
This indicate the rise of a new sun above me
The birth of greatness yet abound
Throughout the day and the rest of my life

Thank You Lord for everything You did
There is no season for rain, sunshine or harmattan
For everyday spent with You
Is sweeter and glorious than the day before

There is never a moment of distress
You never gave up a drop of Your divine care
Because of love, your begotten son on the cross was slayed
Through His resurrection, gave man victory over death

DON'T SIT IDLE

Don't sit idle
Life is too short
Time wasted has no rebate
There is no time to apologize

Don't be stagnate
The world is on the fast lane
The man on the road
Can not be reproof

Break away doubts and insecurity
Look beyond the picture on the wall
There is reproach on the sideline
Stop whining and be positive

Put on your gear, get on the tract
Be focused and set the mind right
The future is brighter ahead
To the man who doesn't yield to defeat
