DON'T CRY FOR ME NIGERIA

I am just a victim from millions of Nigerians wandering on the streets
Who have been punished unjustly for believing in the dreams of our forefathers
No one cares, if we go to bed hungry tonight
I thought the efforts of our heroes past, will avail for you and I

But we go to sleep in darkness every night, in the morning we struggle to make earns meat
No jobs to raise money to take care of the possibility of a day square meal
Everyday we hear the same old stories of billions of naira missing
Yet they promise us stable power supply, wealth and job creation

That our educational system will be improved
That there will be a health reform to reduce death mortality rate
That our roads will be rebuild, and the standard of living will be better
Corruption will be wiped out by the  people who favored it from the start

Forgive me, if I no longer have the zeal as where our forefathers
Forgive me, if I no longer believe in my Country, that things will be better
She has lost faith in me and can't accommodate my dreams
She has sold my birthright and now she is seeking my soul to rid

I am jailed and prosecuted by the people I trusted and believed in
There is no need to shared tears for me, for you are also a victim
Why are we but so selfish, all we seek for is to enrich our personal gain
You are the cause of the tribal war and killing and also the cause of our pain
