INNOCENT CRY

Have you ever taken time to listen to the silent of night?
Can you hear the voices of the innocent heart?
Underneath the darkness amidst the cloud are hopes dieing
Children, brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers are suffering

From the cruelty of an unjust world man created
Hoping to sustain through a long await night incapacitated
Hoping life will be much better tomorrow
Striving to live in a world free of unforeseen sorrow

Unconsciously, love ones are resting for the night
Who will ever thought these could be there last
I have been sleepless trying to figure out
Maybe tonight all my questions will be cast

Last night on my knees, I prayed for the world to be made right
Many are spending the night in pain and regret
Many are hungry going to bed, because no one out there cares at all
No shelter to prevent the heart from heavy out pour

In vain lives are lying six feet beneath

With questions unanswered, trust broken and betrayed
All is needed is a minute to listen to the innocent cry
You and I can save a life today, if we both care enough to try

DON'T CRY FOR ME NIGERIA

I am just a victim from millions of Nigerians wandering on the streets
Who have been punished unjustly for believing in the dreams of our forefathers
No one cares, if we go to bed hungry tonight
I thought the efforts of our heroes past, will avail for you and I

But we go to sleep in darkness every night, in the morning we struggle to make earns meat
No jobs to raise money to take care of the possibility of a day square meal
Everyday we hear the same old stories of billions of naira missing
Yet they promise us stable power supply, wealth and job creation

That our educational system will be improved
That there will be a health reform to reduce death mortality rate
That our roads will be rebuild, and the standard of living will be better
Corruption will be wiped out by the  people who favored it from the start

Forgive me, if I no longer have the zeal as where our forefathers
Forgive me, if I no longer believe in my Country, that things will be better
She has lost faith in me and can't accommodate my dreams
She has sold my birthright and now she is seeking my soul to rid

I am jailed and prosecuted by the people I trusted and believed in
There is no need to shared tears for me, for you are also a victim
Why are we but so selfish, all we seek for is to enrich our personal gain
You are the cause of the tribal war and killing and also the cause of our pain

THE DAY THE SUN STOPPED SMILING

"IN MEMORY OF
MAY HER GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE"

The sun stopped smiling the eve of your departure
She couldn't bear such a heavy burden of losing someone the world treasure
You are the reason the sun smile to the world in the morning
The joy, love, care and affection, you shared glows each morning

Thoughts of all the wonderful feelings you left lingers in the heart
It's because of you, the world is beautiful and today the sky's bright
Gave us eternal and graceful memories of how it feels to be touched by an angel
You willingly gave your selfless service to the world, before you heard heaven's call

Your dreams where fulfilled, because you left our hearts filled with your love
You are priceless, no one can occupy the portion you left in our hearts
This saddens the heart greatly to see you go so soon
For we never had the privilege to spend time with you

You were undoubtedly God's favorite angel on earth
Maybe He misses you so much, He couldn't spend another day, you without
A million tears wouldn't bring you back or wash the pains in our hearts
But with deepest sympathy, we accept you are in a better place reserved for the saints

Rest in peace our beloved mother, sister, daughter, wife, companion and friend
Memories of you will never depart, until we meet again in the end
We appreciate you, for walking into of our lives and for lifting our spirit high
Today, the sun smiles again as the wind carries your glory beyond the sky
