OUT ON THE COLD

I stood out on the cold waiting for you

Couldn't find the joy I get when am with you

I could lite a bonfire, but my heart it can't keep warm

Not when it can't find you around at dawn

It's not perfect a world without you

The sun can't make the day brighter without you

Just as stars, the night will not be beautiful without you

Only in you will I find what the heart seek

Only in you does one get the feeling of a heart beat

It bears an everlasting love that comes with the warmth of your smile

Out on the cold I need stay until I hold you in my arms

I have got nothing in this world that gives the heart joy

But the love and affection found in your bosom alone

I will keep my heart open forever waiting for you

LOST CHILDREN

We are lost children

Scattered across the world

Under one big cloud

Same star, same moon and sun

The sea between us is shallow

It can't drown away our dreams

We share same heart that need be loved

And hope embedded that can't be lost

The door in the heart is left ajar

Wanting to be kept warm through the night

It's no coincident we met and fell in love

The sky can't be hidden from a dove

Does a heart seeking to be hugged

I MUST DANCE

I must dance while the music of life beats

Can't always achieve the things hoped for

It's a long journey from home to destiny

Had to dress the bed before I lay on it

There is no specific direction or pathway to life

Everyday fate I embraced with open arms

To wade away the guilt of an indecisive mind

Strife long overdue but the heart got to tag along

And harvest from sacrifices long made

For a man to be fulfilled and accomplished

Of a long journey away from home

TOSSED AWAY

Everyday life is tossed away

Like falling stars that can not be traced

A dark cloud seems to be above man's world

Shadows walk freely among men

The sun's stolen away from life existence

Life is lost and hope hidden from every soul

Scarlet smokes sprung and overwhelm the sky

Conscience is castaway 

Man is left as scavengers to survive

Life is but short, yet dreams are far away

Can not hold a grip anymore of man's existence

As the richness of life rots

I have wanted to pour my heart out to you

But for a reason I developed a cold feet

I have told my heart a lot about you

He knows I will be deluded without you

Sometimes I feel like a kid when am around you

Can you give me a pat on the back?

And tell me it’s okay, that you love me too

People may think I am going insane for you

Even with a bottle of vodka I will still be lucid for you

Am starving and need your love

I might not know the recipe to your heart

But know one thing is for sure

That I love you and need you to love me back

Distance doesn't change how I feel about you

I will call you a million times

I will send dozens of text messages to you

Buy you a rose if it will help to prove to you

That I love this much about you

I LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU

I like it sometimes when you tell me a story

Do you remember when we first met?

You where every reason I always wanted to stay up late

Because I love spending time with you

With my eyes close I can give you my hands, walk with you and still be safe

I used to overhear people say that angels are beautiful

That’s exactly the way I feeling being around you

Spending the night with you seem the day will never come

Can you go to the window right now and look up at the sky

Did you notice a star that is shining brighter tonight?

And the sky wearing a beautiful smile waving at you

It's me reminding you that I will always be close to you

I care and will be watching over you all through the night

I rarely worry about tomorrow because I've got you

That’s the best thing that could ever happened to me

I still haven't figured out what has gotten into me

To love this much about you, but I am happy about it

It's hard not missing a day without you

Have you thought of practicing a speech you want to present in a board meeting?

Going through series of training to be the best on the pitch

Read daily to score high in the last semester exam

Wake up early every morning to catch the first train to the office so you don't run late

That’s how I feel because I want to be perfect for you

It's a price I am willing to pay if that’ll will my heart to you

I love you and will also be there for you

ROLL THE BOAT

Roll the boat gently down to destiny

Dreams in life are all meant to be

Sail through the lake, river or sea

Current or storm may slow down thee

An anchor isn't enough to hold down a dream

Struggles and strife may weigh down man

Waves may rock the boat, still ease the mind

It aren't stable navigating through life

Got to paddle a way through when the engine is out

No time for worries if options are wide

Bale the water out with eyes fixed where purpose lies

A shore might not be that far away

If a little more you are determined today

Roll the boat till success in hands you can feel

For life is but one big journey attained despite its unforeseen

A WALK IN THE WIND

I took a walk in the wind

My heart tells me she has seen you

I search the world, but couldn't find a clue that leads to you

She only, knows the feeling of been in love with you

She understands the feeling deed down my heart

It’s been cold out here on my own

So I gave her my hands so I wouldn't be lost and alone

She knows where the river slows through to my heart

She shows me a path whenever I lost track of time

I don't want to lose you no more, even in my dream

Someone once told me am hallucinating

But it's difficult to wake up to reality in a world you're not in it

My feelings are blown into the wind like she is a part of me

Whenever you pass by, she whispers to me in a song

I will walk in the wind until the day in my arms I hold you

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS

Can you hold on to the old rugged cross?

Wait until it wipes away the tears in your eyes

Holding on to it may be heavy

But the price you pay it’s worth eternity

Sometimes, it takes forever to get the things we hoped for

Maybe the reason blessings are delayed is for a cause

Delay doesn't necessary mean you are neglected

Maybe He is giving us time to set our lives right

To ensure we are ready to take up our birthright

This old rugged cross has been carried for decades

It’s the only path that doesn't lead to destruction

It’s going to be stormy as you journey on

You will be thirsty but don’t let water

Keep you seconds away from your goal

The old rugged cross leads to a place where dream comes through

It's a place miracles are bound to happen

If you come across a mountain you can’t climb

He is beside you and will give you a leap to push you through

For the old rugged cross

Can change back the hands of time in your life

HAVE YOU TALKED TO JESUS?

Have you talked to Jesus Lately?

He is there for you when in doubt and you need someone to talk to

He knows you are not perfect, yet He loves you so

He cares, that why He died on the cross for me and you

At night while you are asleep, He prays and watches over you

When you going out every day, He walks ahead of you

He knows when your heart is broken and heavy laden too

When you're sick, He has the power to heal you

He has always been beside you, waiting to hear from you

Have you told him your dreams and the challenges you're going through?

The sky is high, yes, but it doesn't mean He can't reach you

He has got your back, no needs in life for you to want to look over your shoulder

Have you talked to Jesus, for you'll be surprised at how much He loves you?

IT'S NOT WORTH IT

It's not worth it living a life of lies

Man can become better if he tries

Work harder and believe in the wills in his heart

Gratitude’s only makes you special for a while

Weeds flourishes but destroyed at its peak of life

It’s no use pretending to be someone you can't have

The best person in the world is in you, but you have to let him outside

He is much hurt inside than you think you are

He doesn't deserve what you're putting him through

God didn't make mistake when he created you

Stop trying to please the world, live your dreams in full

Someone out there appreciates you for who you are

Everyone got something to offer for the world to be complete

I just found mine in you; i wish you can feel the same way I do

Please stop living a false life, embrace the person you are today

For you are all you've got, a star that light up the sky at night

You don't need a miracle; it’s already born in you

I REMEMBER

I remember as a child chasing after my dreams

I remember how excited it get each morning

Walking down the corridor to my classroom at kindergarten

I remember the fun of playing on the field and chasing bees 

I remember mom's special Sunday dinner and the joy of holding my bible to church

I remember the time I used to fly kites over the roof

Mom was always running out of threads, I was always running out of line

I remember my first ride on a bicycle and the bruises on my ankle

I remember watching snails crawl underneath potatoes planted in my garden

I remember my first day in high school, the urge to want to explore the world

I remember how shy I was asking a girl out on a first date

I remember broken moms precious plates and the beaten I got afterwards

I remember life and the choices I made

How I have become a grown man with responsibilities and care

I remember the colors of the moon, stars and the beauty of sun flowers

I remember you, for been a part of my life today

I remember God and thanked Him for helping me get to where I am this day

WE ARE NIGERIANS

We are Nigerians, we are Africans

We are born with a warriors pride

We are the greatest black nation in the world

Blessed and willed in the spirit of our ancestors

We are forged with a heart that doesn't withered but love

We are resilience and can withstand the adversity of the world

Diverse in mother tongues but oneness in spirit

The rain water our lands, the sun blessed our harvest

Wield in our mothers glory and destined to change the world

Our cultures and traditions we wear in our hearts with joy

There is a virtue and bond that runs in a Nigerian heart

Nigerian daughters are beautiful and cuddled by the hands of the gods

The Nigerian sky is filled with pastures cultivated by our forefathers

Underneath dwells different tribes which runs through the river banks

And tribes by the hills and mountains overflowing the northern boundaries

We are Nigerians, sons and daughters of a divine God

I am proud to be a Nigerian
