We waited in the rain oh beloved Nigeria

To cleanse the evil deeds off our streets

As we patiently stand hoping for a change

Conscious of the ambition of the next man

Conscious of is dreams crawling deep down his heart

For every man in life has a destination

Only time can restrain his will

Pouring down wishes from the sky

We wait for a change to heal our burdens

Until homes are filled with joy and hopefulness

Of the glory once resting on our pillow

The pride that once reside among our tribes

The prestige we wore flying our nation's flag

Not today because I will survive

Got an unfinished business to revive

Betrayal and lies wouldn't get my heart broken

The prison bar can't hold down hope and courage a second

I wouldn't give up until my hands I feel victory in

Faith I wouldn't let stay afar from me

The zeal to succeed I will fight from within

My heart and mind is all made up

Today, not matter what happens, I wouldn't give up

Today I shall stand up tall and walk the street

I am a survival; I wedge a strong heart beat

Soaring higher and higher in life

Failure is not an option, victory shall strife

I am a victim of selfish love
Lust in my own desire and thought
Couldn't afford to get the heart broken
My emotion hidden behind the smile

I wanted to have all the luxury in the world
Without given a dime in return
Addicted to selfishness and pride
Irrespective of who I got let down

I never meant to be so cruel
I thought it will bring me happiness
Acquiring all the things the heart desire
But I was a fool and callous all my life

I found out true love is priceless
Like given away ones emotions for free
Hurts deeply, it took me this long to realize
The sun smiles to us all for a reason

I am sorry for the hurts I caused you
I promise the rest of my life to be true

Conceived into a world uncircumcised

A heart primed from the gratitude's of life

The whole essence of life soaked on the street

Shelter a luxury many years deprived

On the roof of time, the wind of hope fades

Family and friends lost and gone

Love deprived of her countenance

Pertinence subdued by disease and poverty

Denuded of a taste of well-being

Walking through the sidewalk in the dark

Soul striving to justify fate yet reside

With man wandering a thousand miles

Weary, thirsty, hungry, lost and cast out

Vagabond stood holding life in his hand

Confused if being alive or dead can be justified

Or will life go round in a circle until man is wiped out of the sky
