TWO BIRDS

You and I, two birds sitting on the branch of a tree
Contemplating if to fly above the world to see
Or sit under a pine tree and make love all through the summer
I always like to nest on the orange tree when not around you're
I got a scent of you for the flowers are as beautiful
I could see the field of grains and a nest build for me and you
If it rains all through summer and your hands I can't hold
I will fly so high to fetch you a rainbow
To make your day memorable and colorful
I will pluck a bunch of lily flowers by the valley for you
So you and I can live in the world we both adore for ever
Every morning fly together to take a sip of a graceful day by the river
Something tells me all our dreams will come true
For when God created the world, He had plans me and you

EYE FOR AN EYE

Eye for an eye rots the world in dismay
Shadows of denied self-walking in the day
Sculptured in a dark memories of destruction
Evil kiss the heart and blindfolds her will
Surgeon trying to amend a mind in disarray
Heart stolen each day for conscience is gone
She leaves a world tasteful of unloved
No virgin to take away the cause foregone
Eye for an eye leaves the world fruitless and void
For the world need be cleanse of impurity
And unloved broken from it captives

WHAT ABOUT US?

Why can’t we share in our nation's wealth?
Why is it so difficult to enjoy our fundamental right?
Why is it the poor and innocent that always get sentenced to jail?
Why must we go on strike for the government to understand our pain?
How many brother needs to die, don’t we deserve good health care?
How long must we serve our country Nigeria?
Yet our parents queue at the pension office for months to get paid

Must we cry, lament, mourn or regret
For the many death in the grave cruelly judged due to injustice
What happened to our mineral resources extracted?
Yet our community leaves in sham for decades
Must we kidnap expatriate to view our grief
Must we vindicate pipe lines to get government attention?
What happened to our roads and electricity?
Why do we have to go to war and shared tears?
To understand the importance of peace

What about our youths, don’t they deserved a job?
Must we always ask for what we need from our government?
What about our children, don’t they need education?
How bad does our road need to get before they can be repaired?
How long will million Nigerians continue to live in abject poverty?
When politicians travel everyday abroad for holiday
What about us the common man struggling on the street?
Don't we have a say of a good life to live?
