SCAR

You have visions like every intellectual being
But the world cannot interpret your dream
You do not have to change anything to suit the world
Until the world changes his perception in the mind

You cannot take a walk to places you want to be
Without darkness clouding what people see
It hurts so much wearing a scar not tend
Afraid to come out in the crowd

They judge immediately without getting to know you
In the heart, they have already crucified you
Maimed every hope of happiness found
This is how cruel man is in the world

You are beautiful just the way you are
It does not matter whether or not you wear a scar
The heart got everything you need to live a good life
You have to stay strong and positive to successfully thrive

Look back to every little bit of stars in the sky you can find
Memories that make you smile any time you look back
You can make it, no matter where the heart resides
By looking beyond all bulging doubts

DONT PULL YOUR LOVE

Don't pull your love out on me, baby
If you do, then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down, cry for a hundred years
Don't pull your love out on me, honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
But don't leave me here drowning in my tears

You say you're gonna leave, gonna take that big white bird,
Gonna fly right out of here without a single word
But you know you'll break my heart when I watch you close that door
Cause I know I won't see you anymore

Don't pull your love out on me, baby
If you do, then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down, cry for a hundred years
Don't pull your love out on me, honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
But don't leave me here drowning in my tears

Haven't I been good to you, what about that brand new ring?
Doesn't that mean love to you, doesn't that mean anything?
If I threw away my pride and I got down on my knees,
Would you make me beg you "pretty please"?

Don't pull your love out on me, baby
If you do, then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down, cry for a hundred years
Don't pull your love out on me, honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
But don't leave me here drowning in my tears

There's so much I want to do
I've got love enough for two
And I'll never use it, girl, if I don't have you

FREEDOM

I am just a black man
Walking around with a childish dream
I recall all through life I struggled
I couldn't get anyone in my dreams to see

Slave to a corrupt political system
Slave to employment without retirement benefits
Slave to inequality and tyranny
Every day I watched glimpses of my dreams die

Whenever I walk out of the door
I never forget a brother rotting in jail
I never forget a mother sexually bruised
A girl child betroth into early marriage

They say I am free because I have an education
I am free because I found shelter in an orphanage
I can afford to have a three square meal
I can walk on the street without been maimed

But every day I am scared of been intimidated
Unprecedented policies depriving the people's need
Like a congregation blindly addressed
By a prophet with unquestionable misdeed

This is what is found in the world today
I could never be pronounced free
Not until the day I take a hit
Only a dead man can truly be free
