HOLD MY HAND

Hold my hand, I promise never to let you down
If the world come crashing, I wouldn't let you fall
If the storm's calling, I will be there to lend you a hand
When trying times are near, I will hold you in the morning and evening
When in need of comfort, by your side I will forever stand
If for a reason there is chaos in the world, I still wouldn't let go your hand
I will hold you dearly and forever close to my heart
I wouldn't let the weariness of a broken day separate me from you
In the wilderness of life, I wouldn't let you alone go through
In sorrow and pain I will be right beside you all night
I will be the light that shines in your life in the dark
If someday we got shipwrecked, I will hold on to you until you are safely on the shore
I wouldn't let you go even if the world comes to an end
Hold my hand for I promise never to let you down

FOR THE PEOPLE

This is for the people
The common man hustling on the street everywhere
Trying to make a life in Nigeria hash atmosphere
In dismay watch the government each day getting crueler
Children hawking on the street to fend for a younger sister or brother
Who've suffered so much that life’s losing hope
Student’s everyday fighting high tuition fees to cope
Don’t lose hope; God is not done with you
You can make it because He still believes in you

This is for the people
That have been oppressed, denuded and suffered unjustly
You look at the good things found around the world
Wondering if it’s a crime to be happy in this world
For reasons unknown life is unfair to you alone in each day
Good people suffering; bad leaders uplifted and appraised everyday
In time all these sorrow and pain will go away
Tell the heart he can make it if he believes in you
Because God has promised He will never depart from you

This is for the people
Who find it difficult to have a day square meal
Every day craved to succeed putting on more zeal
Committed so much effort on a business or a job
But wealth looks blur, far ahead from what you are searching for
Sons are jobless; daughters are selling their bodies for money
Scared to look at the reflection of life in the morning
If you can be patient and look deeply inside, you will that find success resides
For those who are optimistic and willing to follow their dreams
With God it will work out right for you and me

These is for the people
Who wonder what happened to all the money
Invested in the power sector and economy
Why do we hear so much money input in budgets
Yet we are losing our indigenous wealth to foreign investors
Politicians, contractors are living life at large
While the common man on the street everyday tries to survive
You ponder if you’ve done wrong in believing in your country
Because you have suffered so long for century
Things get bad instead of them to be better every day
Just like our society are nowadays accepting gay
I pray God give us the strength to love ourselves
And more will to love and believe in one self

LOCKED IN A ROOM

I am locked in a room
Tired of walking in the past
I can't find a true friend out of this world
Nothing out here can lift my burden off
I can no longer tell the differences in a friend and a foe
I can no longer tell the day there would be peace at home
I don't want to see hearts stained in blood
Can't face an unjust world anymore
Let me die alone in the dark where I belong
I don't want anyone looking out for me
I can't walk a distance without feelings of hate
I can't keep seeing the innocent crying everyday
Mother helpless victim of man's cruelty for love is abandoned

Lock me in a room
I don't want to have no friend anymore
I don't want my heart hurt and bleed any more
I just want to live as an outcast
Wait till God call these day my last
There is so much pollution in the mind
The hearts greedy, it can’t seem to get enough
There is no more evening that bare a smile
Just the wailing of a world running clockwise
Good is forgotten, the cloud bares on it no star
I no longer want to be a victim of an unforeseen world anymore
