FATHER'S LOVE

Out of ignorant, Sammy left home in search of greener pasture
Took all his belongings but a father's love
On the street the rain fell on his dreams
As he walk on marbles in a silver shoe

He saw the sun rest on his shoulder
The stream flowing by daylight
Life so rewarding, flowers flourishing
The world resting under his feet

He forgot home and found the life he seek in his dream
Living a callous but lonely life at it peak
Lost everything including the joy he thought reside
Life flashes so fast between his eyes, as he lost track of time

Life became darker and the night longer
Tomorrow never came, difficult it was to survive the night
Became a destitute, afraid of going home he turned his back on
All the luxuries dispossessed but a piece of tattered dress

A pair of shoe long out of shape and a shack by the alley
Was the closest thing he got close to a home
Lost in ecstasy of shame and a denuded life
For he threw away all he had to ungratefulness and pride

One night he looked up the sky and found a star
It was so bright it lighted the sky as he stare and started to cry
A soft voice whisper to his depressed and wandering heart
All is not lost son,  you've got a father's love waiting at back home
