This is for the people
The common man hustling on the street everywhere
Trying to make a life in Nigeria hash atmosphere
In dismay watch the government each day getting crueler
Children hawking on the street to fend for a younger sister
or brother
Who've suffered so much that life’s losing hope
Student’s everyday fighting high tuition fees to cope
Don’t lose hope; God is not done with you
You can make it because He still believes in you
This is for the people
That have been oppressed, denuded and suffered unjustly
You look at the good things found around the world
Wondering if it’s a crime to be happy in this world
For reasons unknown life is unfair to you alone in each day
Good people suffering; bad leaders uplifted and appraised
everyday
In time all these sorrow and pain will go away
Tell the heart he can make it if he believes in you
Because God has promised He will never depart from you
This is for the people
Who find it difficult to have a day square meal
Every day craved to succeed putting on more zeal
Committed so much effort on a business or a job
But wealth looks blur, far ahead from what you are searching
for
Sons are jobless; daughters are selling their bodies for
money
Scared to look at the reflection of life in the morning
If you can be patient and look deeply inside, you will that
find success resides
For those who are optimistic and willing to follow their
dreams
With God it will work out right for you and me
These is for the people
Who wonder what happened to all the money
Invested in the power sector and economy
Why do we hear so much money input in budgets
Yet we are losing our indigenous wealth to foreign investors
Politicians, contractors are living life at large
While the common man on the street everyday tries to survive
You ponder if you’ve done wrong in believing in your country
Because you have suffered so long for century
Things get bad instead of them to be better every day
Just like our society are nowadays accepting gay
I pray God give us the strength to love ourselves
And more will to love and believe in one self
