AM I WORTHY?

I am grateful you took me in
Raised me like I was your own
You looked beyond my wretchedness
Made my wellbeing your utmost priority

It is strange how you favored me
Nutured me like a tender seed
And watched me grow in grace
I am happier than any man could be

I still can not fathom in this world
Someone can love me unconditionally
You took my burden upon your shoulder
Traded your life on the cross so mine would live

I am free from the bondage of the devil
Free from eternal condemnation and death
Like a touch, your love reflects on my life
Took away the darkness looming in my soul

Ever since, the sun rested above my head
The angels watch over me wherever I lie
Not so long ago, I was depressed and miserable
But now I leave like a king, ordained to be great

TO WEAR A SMILE

Do not take it
Because I wear a smile
That life is beautiful
We all have problems buried within

Life is a journey
Every man with different destination
I have had my own share of regrets
My feelings too have been compromised

I break down sometimes and cry
Can not always hold the tears looming in my eyes
Sometimes there is that urgency
To hide behind the curtain

But the state of my mind
Keep subduing the negativity in my head
It is like the rain fell upon my wretched heart
Took away doubt, rejection, insecurity

And depression once creeping in my mind
Then the sun came knocking at my door
My contentment saw the light
Yet I could not seem to wear a smile

YOU ARE MY ANGEL

You are my angel
Closer to me, this I can tell
Every thought in my heart
Is you that is vividly in the picture

My feeling is like a transparent glass
You can see through my emotions
I can not create a false impression
Hope it is okay, this is not an obsession

I tried to slow down a little
But my emotion is out of control
I see you laying on the bed in my dream
I was naive and confused, yet could not scream

At sight of you, my heart beats faster
I grew up in Lagos, yet felt like a complete stranger
Everyone around was sarcastically staring at me
But why did you have to walk into my dream?

Their stare made me feel like I was cheating
All I have is a picture of you in my heart hanging
Please tell me something
Do you have nightmares in heaven when sleeping?

Oh no, sorry if I have overstepped it
Should you know, I am ready to give away my heart
I do not see why you and I can not hold hands
Kiss you again and again, until I am out of consciousness
