BLACK BIRD

Oh black bird, why can’t you fly?
All through life you’ve been fighting a war
Fell from your mama’s back at your tender age
Cruelly the world turns to you her back

Sorrow is your comfort, pain your companion
Beaten by hate, wings soaked with sadness
Life is deserted, you stood under the cloud without hope
Oh black bird, I wish you could come back home

Don’t despise the world, for there will always be a war
Under your wings, you can find comfort and strength
Can you think of the memories that make you smile?
Somewhere in your heart you can find love to survive

Please black bird; don’t throw away your heart
Life may try to tear your feeling apart
Spread your wings and let the wind take your hands
You are beautiful; don’t let the world make you think otherwise

Shed away the tears in your eyes
Just a little more sleep, you will be aright
No one knew life was going to be this bad
You've got to let go your burden for its going to be alright
