I will rather be poor than rule with an unjust king
I will rather be poor and live gracefully
Be a slave to my families, friends and neighbors
Than be wealthy, troubled, perplexed and restless with no
one to turn to
I will rather get paid a minimum wage befitting a hardworking
man
Live and die peacefully than get my heart nailed to a stick
I will rather be poor and walk by the street blindfolded
Not being scared of closing my eyes even when am walking in
the dark
Have a good heart, a sane mind not troubled by my ordeals
Than be rich, worried, tormented and regretful of my doings
And be chased by my own shadow
I will rather be poor and be proud of the life i am living
Be a good example to my children and to the society
Work harder to affect lives and leave behind good memories
I will rather be poor and leave this world the same way i
came
Free, happy, peaceful and with a grateful heart
