LISTENING TO THE RADIO

Last night I was listening to the radio

I heard a song so wide it embraced my soul

It got that soft touch I feel when hanging out with you

Felt the words of the song tearing my heart and I didn't know what to do

It's like the artist understood how it feels, a life without you

Since I held you many times, I still can't get used to you

You're one of a kind a girl; I would die for to be forever mine

Your smile got a fragrance that touches the heart for a life time

I was doing fine but now without you I have flu

I couldn't resist listening to the song on the radio

For long I have being praying for a miracle

FATHER CALL ME OUT

Call me out of un-financial break through

Call me out of barrenness and spiritual break through

Call me out of failures and disappointments

Call me out of sickness and diseases

Call me out of unfruitfulness

Call me out of unproductive marriage

Call me out of poverty and suffering

Call me out of untimely death

Call me out of unemployment

Call me out of mourning and put joy in my heart

Call me out of the street and put shelter on my head

Call me out of shame and uplift me from the crowd

Call me out of injustice and petition all my case

Call me out of depression and illness

Father, call me out and put your words in my heart and make it whole

LORD GIVE ME A SIGN

Lord give me a sign

I need to know what’s on your mind

Can you look into heart and tell me what is found

I have been fighting with my conscience for so long

If i still have faith or if it’s all gone

Lord give me a sign

I have friends and families relying on me

I doubt if i still have your presence living in me

You've been my refuge all along

Every day in my heart you gave me a new song

You are the only true friend I have when everyone else deserted me

Can you search my heart if i still have your spirit in me?

Please teach me how to reach the blind

Teach me how to comfort the bereaved

Lives of family exploited unjustly all need a shelter

We've got no one we can rely on to look over our shoulder

Make my faith strong; i too want to move mountains

I want to cast a barren tree and see it bright forth fruits

Make me the light people can see when they need a path

Deliver me from evils and oppressed, please don't take your eyes of my sight

Lord, I would never had made it this far if it wasn't for you

I wouldn't have been successful today without you

Use me to touch souls, don't allow the enemies to prosper against me

Water our land and take the drought away for good

Let there be peace in our land for the masses and me

The entire path to my destination, please make them vivid

Please let the sun shine on our dark lives

I wasn't looking to fall in love for you

I thought of all the beauty in the world

The joy and feelings of a friend

The warmth of the night with you by my side

The kiss of the morning dew on your lips

The smile of the flower in your heart

The excitement of been in love from the heart

Sharing in your dreams of tomorrow

Holding your hands through the frame of life

I couldn't let you be all alone in a world so huge

I wanted the stars to be by your door step

THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS

I am on the road to Damascus where Jesus I hope to see

History tend to be forgotten but not for me

I am taking a walk on gravel till it hurts the blood to see

The world have neglected me, I've got nothing my wounds to heal

On the road to Damascus I know will find salvation free

Never had I found hope so strong that lifts the spirit

If I can't find His love in this world there is no need living in it

The cloud is dark over my dreams but I could a light find down the tunnel

For I wouldn't let go a choice my heart to redeem and refill 

On the road to Damascus I know the wounds in my heart will be heal

Treasures are found every day in our heart

Pride and discontent abode a man's who think his life is right

For the morning and evening far from his reach each day

Paul's smiling at Jesus for an accident which occur a faithful day

I don't want to hold on to grudges but seek a new life that's free

The road to Damascus I will set my eyes to see

All I need in life, He knows I can find in him at will

I WILL STILL LOVE YOU

If the earth gets over flooded

The sky higher my hand couldn't reach

If the sea becomes difficult to navigate through

The street too dangerous to walk by

If the sun no longer out doing the day

The moon lost her beautiful and the night couldn't stay

If stars are constantly falling out of reach

The cloud no longer blue the sky to breach

If I walk by the street each day and can't find you

Prayed to God but still can't find a way to get to you

I HAD A VISION

I had a vision that mankind will climb higher in his endeavors

A heart of a mansion that Nigerians will be ruled by a just man

I had a vision that someday there will be change

A drastic change that no man can influence

I had a vision that everyman will go back home

To the life we once had, filled with good memories and hope

I had a vision that our economy will be the best in Africa

I had a vision that every child will enjoy good health care

Every girl child will have provisions to education

I had a vision that the pains Nigerian's once had

Will be taken away and smile restored back in our lives

I had a vision that the war we once fought

Will be won due to love, unity, peace and long suffering

I had a vision that many Nigerians will see no reason to want to travel abroad

There will be so much wealth, businesses will prosper and there will be creation of jobs

I had a vision that the labor of our heroes past

Will be justified by everyman's will is right to fight

I had a vision that our rail system will work again

And someday our electricity will be restored

I had a vision that injustice will no longer be tolerated

That the cost of living will be stabilized

And every woman will find her man

I had a vision that there will be reconstruction of the roads

Disease and sickness eradicated from our homes

Agriculture will be fruitful, animals healthier

I had a vision that a man will walk out late at night with ease

That the police will curb the crimes with sincerity

I had a vision of a time when we will walk in the rain and not get wet

That we will all live in a perfect world where there will be no regret

A world where our common interest will be protected

A world where there will be no negative stories told

Dedicated to my dear sister Esther Emmanuel whom is celebrating her birthday today the 27th May

Today would be incomplete

If out of the smile you brought to our lives

The joy and companion you bear

I fail to remember you when a kid chasing your dreams

Why the stars where bright around you

Why God had a special plan for you

He told me everything you've lost He will be renew

Your blessing will be like a river that flows around the world

For a diamond will not match the worth of your joy

Your birth was a piece of the puzzle which made up a beautiful world

As you celebrate your birthday today

It reminds us the beauty of your love and affection we gain

Today it rained because God was shedding joy

For it wasn't easy for Him when he gave you away

He loved you so much but he knew you were meant in our lives to stay

CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU

Walking in the dark with thoughts of you

The cloud has a touch of grey and fading blue

I have the feeling I will see you

It wasn't a mistake how I meet you

In my heart I was searching for love when I meet you

I have heard people say miracles do happens, so I went in search for one

I can't explain what got into me when I saw you walking on

It’s like all my life I have been waiting for you

Though we were strangers, it felt like i already knew you

And i keep falling in love over and over for you

I am shy admitting I keep getting fond of you

When you smile, it flashes between my eyes and my heart skipped for you

I want you to know that no matter what

I am going to save the whole of my heart for you

BY THE RIVER BANK

 

I was running down the river bank
I saw a damsel walking by a mile
She was holding something like a beacon
I could swear she was wearing a smile
I paused for my heart urge me to approach her
I was startled for it's just a moment I met her

The wind whisper something to my ear
Like I would be losing someone irreplaceable and rare
So I lower my guard and embraced her
Held her close to my bosom and kissed her
The sea was calm and the sun smiling
It felt shy for I wasn't sure what I was doing

I went back home unconsciously with a piece of her unbroken
I thought as I slept off, at dawn it would have all been forgotten
But the morning never came calling
For I saw her again in the star smiling
I could feel the pulses that I wasn't out of my mind

So I gave up my feelings not to be lonely anymore for her beauty is divine
I couldn't have gotten her if I had gave up my soul
I let love take its course and my body and mind became whole
I couldn't take my feelings away from the cabin where my heart berth
So it wouldn't drift away, for I have found love so real and right

AFTER THE RAIN

After the rain, the wind is full of laughter
The evening wearing a smile
The moon's feeling blue inside
The earth seamlessly grateful
The trees and flowers excited and thankful
Crops wishing the rain not to seize
The day didn't want to let go the joy it brings
But the sky seems to be beautiful
Waiting for the night to embrace the pleasantness of the day
The sun went off for a walk for the day
And the world eased from burdens of the day

If tomorrow never comes

I will hold you closely through the night

I would be busy loving you tonight

As I lay on the bed whistling my love to you

Faith above water is what I pray for

To walk on water and never fall

If it rained over the sea and the storm heavy

I am going to sail all the way through

My parents are heaven and earth

My home is my body

My power is my loyalty

My life is death and breath

My body is control

My eyes are the sun and moon

My ears sensitivity

My law is self protection

My strength is adaptability

My ambition is my dreams

My friend is my mindfulness

My enemy is carelessness

My protection is right action

My weapons are my hands

My strategy is one foot in front

My trust is known off the other

And my God but no man

Under the wind life seems

Shadows comprehend a man's dreams

Clouds above the earth peace unforeseen

Silence in the morning and dew not seen

Laughter not enough to plant the earth a seed

Grievance chasing tomorrow from our midst

Sun unable to see the path man needs to be freed

The world can't provide meat the body to feed

Scar of mourning the heart bleeds often

The world changed for life is forgotten

Hope prey the feelings from suffering

Wish the wind don't blow away man's dream
Love and joy in life man crave

For under the wind does life seems

Any time I think of you

Sets my heart wide open

You left an ocean in my heart

You left a reflection of loneliness and tears in my heart

Sun shine can't wipe away the tears and regret

I promised the heart I would not cry

The world is forever beautiful but in my dreams

I am scared of waking up to a morning of guilt

And regrets of how you slipped away from my hands

THE WORLD IS UNJUST

It's difficult judging if life is worth living anymore

We all wake up each morning to achieve the dreams we seeking for

Brothers and sisters have died not able to achieve their dreams

A man kills his daughter for ritual because his tired of living in a shame

Greed’s everywhere, to be rich in life is what we aim

Brother takes a gun to rob because he can't live in vain

Suicide bombers killing masses every day to prove they don't mind going to hell

Sisters are increasing everyday on the street forced to sell their beauty to feed

After so many years of studies and sacrifices made

Still no job, living a life of a destitute and frustrated

Why is the world so full of cruelty and hatred?

These days a man can't tell what to believe in anymore

We call ourselves friends, but no one's around to heed

To the call of a friend when in need of a helping hand

The bible told us how God created the world and made it beautiful

He was amazed and excited and gave man the earth to make resourceful

Many have applied for jobs over the years Every time they don't seem to have the right qualifications

Man is smacked on the street every day in  life

This can never be resolved if soldiers keep preparing for war

What is it we are really fighting for?

Is the earth no longer good enough to live in anymore?

It's unjust for man to suffer over and over through life for years

These wasn't the life we were given birth to by His grace

We are all one being and deserve a better world than we are leaving in

What happened to the love men once had within?

I don't know about you, but I can't stand this anymore

This injustice I can't continue to bear anymore

We've got to stand up and fight for our rights

Our rights to have a good life and have peace in our lands

I keep falling in love for you over and over again since I set my eyes on you

My heart got all confused, in my dreams I keep seeing pictures of you

Last night I said a prayer and asked God for a wish

Out of everything in the world it’s you I seek

When its morning your smile and hugs I urge to feel

It was lonely all through July for your love forever I seek

I missed your love and the feelings I can't let go

Without you in my life, my night will be cold

My love for you is forever strong, for you it can't let go

Every moment spent with you made the sky beautiful

If tomorrow I wake up and can't find you

The rest of my life will be miserable

Without you my morning will have no dew

And my heart will be discontent and awful

In my afterlife I will love you still

If the world come crashing, I will search for you still

Seeking for your love my heart to heal

Memories of joy, love and laughter to fill

THE MEMORIES WE KEEP

A man's heart is filled with memories

Memories we don’t want to sacrifice

Thoughts that are part of life we want to keep forever

The beauty of time spent with a love one having dinner

The love shared with someone without hope and in need

The pictures of the time spent growing up on the field

The sacrifices a mother made for a child

The love of a father working so hard every day for families to feed

Sometimes when the night stays a little bit longer

It is these memories that give us hope that tomorrow will be better

Our hearts might have been broken not once

We are made strong because we have someone out there we can trust

The choices and decisions we made out of life make us stronger

We risk our joy by putting our fate in a complete stranger

The hard times when we thought we have no one to count on

Memories of the time we spent with friends, fought, break up and made up

This memory keeps life going each day

It’s what keeps us strong whenever we have a bad day

It's the string that lifts a man spirit high

A man is lost without memories to remember him by

It's what reminds us of our birthright

And the director that guides our future

YOU TOOK ME FOR A FOOL

All I did was to love you as you deserved

I introduced you to my home and took you out

I never get angry at you because my love for you can't be out of date

On rainy days I held the umbrella for you

I was ready to go extreme to ensure a smile never extinct in you

Check up on you every second, I became a baby sitter spending all my time with you

When I caught you dating someone else, I forgave you

I tried to be the man for you by being there for you

But it seems I have never been good enough for you

You took my love for granted; you keep playing me for a fool

You told me I was too nice to you and that’s too good to be true

Soon you started having odd excuses, and stopped calling me on the phone

When I came across you, you promised to give me a call at home

For days I barely hear from you, but I didn't care

I still wanted to be with you, but you keep taking me for a fool

I might be blind with love for you, but in my heart I keep seeing you

I let my heart fall in love with you, and you let my feelings fly free

My thoughts of you is still good, but you keep walking away from me
